I'd visited the old town in 2013 and searched for affordable accommodation there before this trip but Double Tree by Hilton had better accommodation outside the old town albeit expensive. My Hilton Honors' price was the about the same as my booking.com price The rooftop pool and bar were the best this trip - the pool was about 15m with good views to the mountains and the old city. We didn't eat at the hotel - I checked the menu and vibes, deciding we were far better off walking the 15+ minutes to the old town with a great coffee shop on the way and another there, along with great food in each restaurant we researched Our two day trips were enjoyable - visiting historic villages I'd ridden through in 2013

The staff were friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out, making sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. location - about 15 20 mins away from the tourist sights in Girona, good location in a nice quiet area with lots of cafes and supermarkets around. room - clean, spacious, massive bed, had a kettle and hot drinks options as well as a fridge, complimentary water, ironing board, iron, hair dryer. 10/10 staff - lovely friendly staff on reception and housekeeping bathroom - really spacious and modern plus you get a warm cookie on arrival ☺️
